In Case You Missed It (ICMYI):
Last June 05, during the World Environment Day, the Philippine Society of Sanitary Engineers, Inc. (PSSE) spearheaded an Outreach activity at the Aeta Community of Sitio Haduan, Mabalacat City, Pampanga.
Several volunteers comprised of PSSE National Officers, PSSE Central Luzon Chapter Officers and members, PICE QC Hall Sub Chapter Officers and members, 3BC Bikers, faculty and students from NU-Manila, and donors worked and walked together to reach the indigenous mountain peoples of Sitio Haduan.
Almost one hundred Indigenous Peoples (IPs) composed of children, teenagers, and adults received Sanitation and hygiene kit, slippers, and a simple sumptuous lunch treat from PSSE and its outreach partners and donors. Aetas were also taught with basic principles of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Education (WASHEd) by volunteers from Masy Consultants.
Aside from distribution of kits and pledges, walk around field observation and brief discussion with Teacher Faye, Community coordinator, were also carried out for a preliminary community needs assessment.
